How to Make Orange Chocolate Chip Cookies from Scratch?
Baking these cookies require very few Ingredients and this gets done in less than 30-minutes.
- First, we’ll be combining all-purpose flour, Baking Soda, and Salt.
- Into that, we’ll be adding Melted Butter, Orange Juice, Pure Vanilla Extract, Granulated Sugar, Liquid Orange Food Color, and of course, Unsweetened Chocolate Chips.
- Mix well, using a rubber spatula or a silicone spatula. But do not overmix.
- Now cover this with a plastic wrap or cling wrap and transfer this to the freezer for 20-minutes or in the refrigerator for 2-4 hours.
- Once the cookie dough is chilled, take out a portion of the cookies and bake these cuties for just 10-minutes in a 180C or 350F preheated oven.
- Once done, let it stay in the baking tray until cools down completely.
Tips to make these Cookies effectively:
Baking cookies is so easy and so fun. But, you’ll only enjoy baking them if you follow these tips.
- Always mix using a wooden spatula or a silicone spatula or a rubber spatula. Do not use a handheld mixer or a stand mixer. While baking cookies, sometimes when we overmix the cookies gets flat and by using a spatula we are making sure that our cookie dough is not overmixed. Also, this step helps the cookies turn chewy in texture.
- Please allow the cookie dough to chill in the refrigerator or freezer. If you are freezing it then 20-minutes should be good. If you are refrigerating it then refrigerate for at least 2-4 hours. Why? What happens is that sometimes we add too much of the liquid agent and as a result, our cookies turn out flat. When we chill the cookie dough, the moisture gets absorbed. The butter in the dough hardens up. And when it hits the oven, it doesn’t spread and makes the cookies chewier.
